How to Use Clay Pots

We make our flameware pots for slow food aficionados, lovers of fine food, appreciators of quality kitchen tools, cooks, chefs...everyone who loves to cook!

Before you Cook

Unlike cast iron or earthenware pots, Cook on Clay pots are ready to use the moment you receive them. You don't need to season or soak them, preheat or prepare them in any other way. Just unpack your pot from the box it come in, and it’s ready to be the beautiful workhorse in your kitchen from day one.

While you Cook

The most appealing part of Cook on Clay pots are their versatility. Move them from freezer to stovetop, oven to tabletop, grill to countertop seamlessly. You can use round pots directly on round burners -- electric, gas, or wood. You can use metal utensils and carve with a sharp knife directly on the pot. The surfaces will not be harmed.

After you Cook

Cook on Clay pots are dishwasher safe. They clean up beautifully with 10 minutes of soaking. Feel free to use any scrub pads, they will not mar or scratch the surface of your pot.

The surfaces of Cook on Clay pots naturally change with use and over time. This is a natural part of the maturation process, creating a rich patina and history of use. If you wish, a bit of vegetable oil rubbed into the surface after cleaning will rid the surface of “food shadows” or “discoloration”.
