Our Mission & Vision

Mission: To bring the values of slow food & locally grown food to the field of clay cookware.

Vision:  Cook on Clay flameware pottery will continue the artistry and tradition of the American craft movement in all of our designs and pottery products.  Our logo reflects the heritage of pottery designers of past eras. We bring those traditions of the craftsmen to the present in our modern designs as we strive to integrate the values of slow food, slow money, and local community into our business thinking and strategies.

The vision for our company includes an artisan-based local manufacturing company in scenic Central Whidbey Island that will contribute to jobs and job training for seniors, under-employed residents, and student-artisans. In addition to offering jobs and training, Cook on Clay will offer hands-on artist-in-resident opportunities to selected potters. The Cook On Clay flameware manufacturing center will be a visitor attraction and open throughout the year. We will have a cooking kitchen and provide tasting tours to provide information about our flameproof cooking vessels to the general public. The Cook On Clay flameware pottery and manufacturing center will become well-know throughout the region and the United States as an example of an American hand-crafted and designed pottery business that reflects the values of the local community, and enriches the economic vitality and artistic depth of the region.
